LME aluminium opened at US$2,408 per tonne on Wednesday, with its high and low at US$2,433 per tonne and US$2,371 per tonne, respectively, before closing at US$2,375 per tonne, a drop of US$20.5 per tonne or 0.86 per cent.
On Wednesday, December 28, both LME aluminium cash bid price and LME aluminium official settlement price inched up by US$0.5 per tonne or 0.21 per cent and US$1 per tonne or 0.04 per cent to stand at US$2,342 per tonne and US$2,343 per tonne.
3-month bid price and 3-month offer price climbed up by US$5 per tonne or 0.21 per cent to rest at US$2,376 per tonne and US$2,378 per tonne.
December 23 bid price and December 23 offer price grew by US$1 per tonne or 0.04 per cent to settle at US$2,458 per tonne and US$2,463 per tonne.
LME aluminium opening stock pegged at 461725 tonnes. Live warrants and Cancelled warrants were halted at 227225 tonnes and 234500 tonnes.
LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price hiked by US$3.75 per tonne or 0.15 per cent to peg at US$2,411.50 per tonne.
SHFE aluminium price
On the other hand, the benchmark aluminium price for SHFE has slipped by US$39 per tonne or 1.43 per cent to halt at US$2,687 per tonne.
The most-traded SHFE 2302 aluminium closed down 0.63 per cent or RMB 120 per tonne at RMB 18,785 per tonne, with open interest down 13,832 lots to 154,726 lots.

Overnight, the most-traded SHFE 2302 aluminium contract opened at RMB 18,730 per tonne, with the highest and lowest at RMB 18,785 per tonne and RMB 18,655 per tonne before closing at RMB 18,705 per tonne, down RMB 80 per tonne or 0.43 per cent.
