The United States exported 62,200 tonnes of aluminium plates, sheets and bars to Canada in the first quarter of 2022 (1Q2022), which declined by 16,200 tonnes or 20.66 per cent Y-o-Y from 78,400 tonnes in 1Q2021. On a Q-o-Q calculation, a dropdown of 6,200 tonnes or 9.06 per cent was recorded in 1Q2022 from 68,400 tonnes in the fourth quarter of 2021 (4Q2021).
In March 2022, Canada imported 23,000 tonnes of aluminium plates, sheets and bars from the United States, which M-o-M hiked by 3,200 tonnes or 16.16 per cent from 19,800 tonnes in February. In February, a surge of 400 tonnes or 2.06 per cent was recorded from 19,400 tonnes in January. As per the USGS data, a Y-o-Y comparison shows a downfall of 6,700 tonnes or 22.55 per cent in March 2022, from 29,700 tonnes in March 2021.

The amount of aluminium plates, sheets and bars exported by the United States to Canada in March 2022 settled at 37,900 tonnes, which scaled up by 4,800 tonnes or 14.50 per cent M-o-M from 33,100 tonnes in February. However, the total volume of aluminium plates, sheets and bars exported by the US to Canada in January 2022 and February 2022 remained unchanged to close at 33,100 tonnes.
