A00 aluminium ingot price hikes by RMB210/t to stand close to RMB17000/t; Aluminium alloys prices exceed RMB17000/t

A00 aluminium ingot price has soared on December 1, 2020, to stand close to RMB 17,000 per tonne, according to the Shanghai Metals Market. Growing by RMB 210 per tonne, the primary aluminium ingot price has come in at RMB 16,980 per tonne, with average prices expected to range between RMB 16,960 per tonne and RMB 17,000 per tonne. The spot contract is likely to be traded at RMB 130-170 per tonne, down by RMB 40 per tonne from the previous day.

Of all the major Chinese cities, Linyi has seen the highest surge in primary aluminium ingot price today by RMB 245 per tonne to RMB 17,005 per tonne, followed by the hike in Foshan and Shenyang of RMB 210 per tonne and RMB 200 per tonne, respectively, to come in at RMB 17,080 per tonne and RMB 16,970 per tonne. In Chongqing, A00 aluminium ingot price has climbed by RMB 190 per tonne to stand at RMB 16,940 per tonne, while that in Gongyi and Wuxi has increased by RMB 180 per tonne to RMB 16,820 per tonne and RMB 17,010 per tonne, respectively. In Tianjin and Hangzhou, primary aluminium ingot price has grown by RMB 140 per tonne and RMB 160 per tonne to come in at RMB 16,930 per tonne and RMB 17,030 per tonne, respectively.

The prices of aluminium alloys, on the other hand, have exceeded RMB 17,000 per tonne on December 1, 2020, found the Shanghai Metals Market. Aluminium alloys (ADC12) price has surged by RMB 300 per tonne to come in at RMB 17,100 per tonne. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 17,000 per tonne and RMB 17,200 per tonne.

The prices of aluminium alloy (A356) and aluminium alloy (A380) are standing at RMB 17,700 per tonne after growing by RMB 250 per tonne and RMB 650 per tonne, respectively, as of December 1.

Coming to the primary aluminium input costs, the average alumina spot price has grown by RMB 7 per tonne to RMB 2,288 per tonne, while the price of the prebaked anode has increased by RMB 270 per tonne to peg at RMB 3,485 per tonne.

Aluminium powder price has expanded by RMB 0.2 per kg to stand at RMB 20.55 per kg.
