The average alumina spot price in China has continued to grow for the sixth straight day, albeit slower, by RMB 11 per tonne to come in at RMB 2,419 per tonne on July 9, found Shanghai Metals Market. In the central and north, the price has grown by RMB 10 per tonne to RMB 2,425 per tonne, while that in the east and south has remained restrained at RMB 2,400 per tonne and RMB 2,520 per tonne, respectively.
Among other input costs, the price of aluminium fluoride has recorded a decline of RMB 200 per tonne to RMB 7,350 per tonne, following a restraint for over a month.
The A00 aluminium ingot price has jumped by RMB 150 per tonne on July 9, after two consecutive declines from RMB 14,440 per tonne to RMB 14,320 per tonne. The aluminium ingot price is now standing at RMB 14,470 per tonne, according to SMM. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 14,450 per tonne and RMB 14,490 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at a premium price of RMB 40-80 per tonne.
Gongyi has seen the highest jump in the aluminium ingot price today of RMB 245 per tonne to stand at RMB 14,385 per tonne. In Wuxi and Chongqing, the price has increased by RMB 190 per tonne to RMB 14,530 per tonne and RMB 14,370 per tonne, respectively, while that in Linyi and Hangzhou has soared by RMB 180 per tonne and RMB 170 per tonne to RMB 14,460 per tonne and RMB 14,530 per tonne. In Shenyang and Tianjin, the primary aluminium ingot price has grown by RMB 135 per tonne and RMB 95 per tonne to respectively hover at RMB 14,400 per tonne and RMB 14,430 per tonne.
Backed on the hike in A00 aluminium ingot price, the price of aluminium alloy (A356) has also grown by RMB 150 per tonne to come in at RMB 15,100 per tonne, as of Thursday, July 9. The prices of aluminium alloys (ADC12) and aluminium alloy (A380) have, however, remained restrained at RMB 13,950 per tonne and RMB 14,850 per tonne, respectively.
