China’s primary aluminium inventories decline by 155,000 tonnes on week

As updated by Shanghai Metals Market, social inventories of primary aluminium across eight consumption areas in China, including SHFE warrants, continued to trend lower for the fourth consecutive week on strong demand and fewer arrivals. Inventories stood at 1.204 million tonnes in the week ended April 30, down 155,000 tonnes from the previous week.

Primary aluminium stocks in Wuxi, Shanghai, and Nanhai decreased by 53,000 tonnes, 9,000 tonnes and 40,000 tonnes from April 23 to stand at 524,000 tonnes, 158,000 tonnes and 246,000 tonnes on Thursday, 30 April 2020. Inventories in Hangzhou came in at 120,000 tonnes, a drop of 15,000 tonnes from last week.

Stocks of primary aluminium in Gongyi and Linyi stood at 81,000 tonnes and 8,000 tonnes. That was down 37,000 tonnes and 1,000 tonnes. Inventories in Tianjin and Chongqing remained unchanged at 54,000 tonnes and 13,000 tonnes.
