After a massive investment of US$100 million, the fully optimised facility will, in turn, give rise to 550 new employment opportunities. It was specially built for food and personal care packaging, and the facility spans an area of 590,000 square feet.

Amcor is hailed for supplying packaging solutions for beverage, food, pharmaceutical, home and personal care products, along with other diversified industrial sectors. The company, on an international scale, provides packaging solutions such as AmPrima™ recycle-ready solutions, including AmFiber™ paper-based and AmFoil™ aluminium-based solutions, and also the EcoGuard™ brand, which incorporates many sustainable packaging designs created from all types of raw materials.

The new Amcor plant will house China’s first automated packaging production line, which with the help of laminators, high-speed printing presses and bag-making machines, can decrease the manufacturing cycle of each product by twice the usual standard.

This latest facility will also have three separate laboratories displaying extraordinary testing and analytical possibilities. The unit will extract all the essential operational data from Amcor’s Asia-Pacific Innovation Centre located in Jiangyin, China, introduced in August 2022 for propagating responsible packaging designs around the area.

The updated manufacturing system mounted in the Huizhou plant includes laser scanners, light curtains, machine guarding and various quality control points.

Amcor’s new flexible packaging unit has innumerable safety and climate-conscious configurations, like the regenerative thermal oxidisers (RTO) system that negates the consumption of excess energy. RTO is an air pollution control algorithm that transforms air pollutants and harmful organic compounds into carbon dioxide and water before releasing them into the air.

Also, the strategic placement of heat-recovery and rainwater harvesting systems will decrease the carbon footprint and narrow down the environmental difficulties laid by the facility. All the technological processes have been attested by the European Union health ministry and are CE-certified. The new facility focuses more on low-carbon paper or aluminium packaging production alongside offering the scope of complete process scrutiny.
