To encourage garbage collection and recycling, the Romanian city of Cluj-Napoca launched a new pilot initiative. Participants must deposit empty bottles or aluminium cans to receive free bus tickets.

Volkswagen Group's Slovakia site is one of the first units to enrol in the Aluminium Closed Loop project, which includes recycling aluminium stamping offcuts from press shops that come back to the aluminium roll suppliers. These aluminium offcuts are then subjected to reform, after which the actual metal can be extracted for re-production without any stain on the quality.

Romanian city Cluj-Napoca had recently introduced a new pilot project to induce waste collection and recycling, whereby people have to deposit empty bottles or aluminium cans to get complimentary bus tickets in return. For this, a reverse vending machine is mounted at the Zorilor agro-food market located in the city.
Following a 5.0% expansion in 2021, Lithuania's economy is expected to expand by 1.9% in 2022, a moderate increase over the 1.7% forecast in spring, resulting from a better-than-expected quarter for exports. It is also expected to grow by 2.5% in 2023.
