China’s alumina price drops by RMB6/t to RMB2989/t; A00 aluminium ingot price falls by RMB50/t at the week’s start

The average alumina spot price in China has dived down by RMB 6 per tonne to rest at RMB 2,989 per tonne, and particularly in Shanxi, it has fallen by RMB 15 per tonne to halt at RMB 2,905 per tonne.

A00 aluminium ingot price has dropped by RMB 50 per tonne to settle at RMB 20,750 per tonne on Monday, May 30, starting the week at a decline, as noted by the Shanghai Metals Market (SMM). The average prices are estimated to range between RMB 20,730 per tonne and RMB 20,770 per tonne, with spot contracts trading at a discount price of RMB 20 per tonne and a premium price of RMB 20 per tonne.

The primary aluminium ingot price has witnessed the highest slump in Tianjin by RMB 80 per tonne to stop at RMB 20,700 per tonne today. The other provinces in China, Hang Zhou, Foshan and Shenyang, have suffered an RMB 60 per tonne cut. The price of aluminium ingots in Hang Zhou has stopped at RMB 20,780 per tonne, followed by RMB 20,730 per tonne at Foshan and RMB 20,720 per tonne at Shenyang. In Gongyi and Wuxi, the aluminium ingot prices have plunged by RMB 50 per tonne to settle at RMB 20,760 per tonne and RMB 20,750 per tonne, respectively. Chong Qing has also witnessed a price decrease of RMB 30 per tonne, resulting in RMB 20,760 per tonne. Lastly, the premium aluminium ingot price in Linyi has dropped by RMB 50 per tonne, stopping at RMB 20,800 per tonne on Monday, May 30.

In China, the domestic price of low-carbon aluminium has shrunk by RMB 60 per tonne to stand at RMB 21,344 per tonne on Monday.

The price of aluminium alloy (ADC12) has fallen by RMB 50 per tonne to stand at RMB 20,850 per tonne, as per the SMM data. The average prices are likely to range between RMB 20,750 per tonne and RMB 20,950 per tonne. Similarly, the aluminium alloy (A380) price has seen a downfall of RMB 50 per tonne to rest at RMB 21,850 per tonne, with average prices ranging from RMB 21,750 per tonne and RMB 21,950 per tonne. The aluminium alloy (A356) price also has plummeted by RMB 50 per tonne to rest at RMB 21,900 per tonne. The average price for aluminium alloy (A356) is expected to orbit between RMB 21,800 per tonne and RMB 22,000 per tonne.
