According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the United States imported 35,800 tonnes of US aluminium scrap from Canada in September 2021, showing a month-on-month decline of 700 tonnes or by 1.91 percent. In August 2021, 36,500 tonnes of aluminium scrap were imported from Canada, showing an ascend of 8.30 percent from 33,700 tonnes in July 2021.
On a year-on-year calculation, US aluminium scrap imported from Canada in September 2021, levelled up by 3,700 tonnes or by 11.5 percent from 32,100 tonnes.
From January to September 2021, the imported scrap from Canada settled at 309,000 tonnes. For the same period last year, the amount recorded was 250,000 tonnes.
As per the data shared by the United States Geological Survey, the total amount of aluminium plates, sheets, bars, crude metals and alloys, and scrap, imported from Canada for September 2021 totalled at 257,000 tonnes. For the same period last year, the amount totalled at 201,000 showing an increase of 56,000 tonnes in 2021.
