Guinea Alumina Corporation appoints Malick N'Diaye as CEO

On 28th April 2021, Guinea Alumina Corporation, a subsidiary of Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), which explores bauxite in the Boké region located at the northwest of Guinea, has announced the appointment of Malick N'Diaye as the CEO of the organization.

Malick N'Diaye joined GAC in 2014 as Chief Financial Officer and from August 2019 onwards, he occupied the post of Deputy CEO and Director of Government Relations.

He is carrying a successful career experience of over 19 years in finance, accounting, auditing, consulting, treasury, and financial management in the Republic of Guinea, the UK, and the Republic of Congo. He has held several management positions within the audit firm Ernst & Young and has also worked for two major mining companies, Rio Tinto and Xstrata Glencore.

According to GAC, Malick N'Diaye will be responsible for Human Capital, the Safety of GAC's facilities, and above all for building and maintaining relationships of trust and good understanding with the main stakeholders, whether they are local communities, business partners, or government authorities.

Malick’s appointment came after the resignation of Director General, Aissata Beavogui at the beginning of April 2021. Aissata, a former Deloitte, Grant Thornton, and AIS International, is the first woman to occupy this level of function in the field of mines in Guinea. Above all, she was the one that led the project from its maturation phase until the export in August 2019 of the first tonnes of metallurgical bauxites from GAC, gradually bringing this quantity to 9.5 million tonnes in 2020.
