Australia-based aluminium extruded product manufacturing company Capral Aluminium has reported its annual turnover for the 12 months of 2020 ended on December 31 at $432 million. Trading EBITDA stood at $19.7 million compared to $11 million in FY2019. For the second half of FY2020, Capral reported trading EBITDA of $13.9 million, attributing to strong sales performance, improved operating leverage, and sales realised from business initiatives.
Sales volumes were up by 7.6 per cent on the prior period to 61,000 tonnes with buoyant conditions in the second half of FY2020. Capral also posted a strong balance sheet with net cash of $49.4 million, buoyed by improved market conditions in the residential building sector on the back of the government stimulus.
Capral also noted in the report that its key investment in Smithfield, New South Wales, extrusion capacity contributed positively.
The company, according to full-year results of 2020, has six plants, 9 extrusion presses, and 18 distribution centres nationwide.
Capral has more than 800 employees and manages an annual extrusion capacity of 65,000 tonnes.
The company continued to operate throughout the period of Covid-19 restrictions, implementing several measures to safeguard employees and the business.
