The economy of Czech Republic was described as "one of Europe's most flourishing economies". The Czech statistical office has released a preliminary estimate of 3Q GDP growth, which came in at 6.2% QoQ after an 8.7% fall in the second quarter. Markets expected weaker growth at around 5%, so a somewhat positive surprise. The second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic will move the Czech economy to contract again in 4Q.
The Central European nation’s import of aluminium cans during 2018-19 was recorded at 29,798 tonnes and the expenditure remained at $130.80. The import for 2020 is marked at 30,300 tonnes and the expenditure to stand at $81.97 tonnes. However, when the import volume and expenditure of 2020 gets added with the previous two years, it signifies 60,098 tonnes and $212.77 million respectively.
Czech Republic’s import of aluminium cans in 2018 was accounted for 13,948 tonnes and the expenditure stood at $61.37 million, whereas in 2019, the import saw growth by 13.63%, as the import volume rose to 15,850 tonnes and the expenditure climbed to $69.43 million.
The import for 2020 is also evaluated with growth by 91.16%, as the import volume to reach at 30,300 tonnes and the expenditure to remain at $81.97 million.
Czech Republic’s major trading destinations for the importation of aluminium cans are Austria, Belgium, France, China, Croatia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, etc.
