ALUMIL, one of the largest industries in the extrusion of aluminium in Greece, considers that the environmental protection is not just a side project on the annual plan, but it is at the core of organisation’s strategy for the next decade.
For more than 30 years, the aluminium company has developed innovative products that stand out in the global market. The superior quality architectural aluminium systems are the result of technological expertise; however, most of it is manufactured in a cyclical production model, which is in line with the principles of the company’s sustainable business plan.
The primary intention of Alumil is to minimize carbon footprint. Consequently, they have invested €2.8 million in a new aluminium scrap separation unit which was recently installed in their facilities. The new unit is erected in just 3 months and it can process 60 tonnes of aluminium scrap alloys daily. The separation process includes mechanic, magnetic and X-ray technology. In this way, they manage a 5% increase to the levels of recycled aluminium, while 95% of energy saving will be achieved.
The objective of the organization is to use up to 70% of recycled aluminium scrap on the production line for the next 3 years.
As a leading company in the aluminium extrusion segment, Alumil wants to contribute to social prosperity. Environmental protection is a vital requirement for such a goal, as being an international company that encircles responsibility towards nature and people. Hence, it has been determined to intensify the actions for an eco-friendly future with better living conditions for everyone.
