Holden Aluminium Technologies in UK will close-down by the end of year: Parent company Hydro reveals

Holden Aluminium Technologies at Station Road, Bromyard, will be closed down by the end of 2020, as this information is revealed by its parent company Hydro Group.

At the Bromyard factory, around 50 jobs will be at risk as the company seems to adapt to challenging market conditions.

A spokesperson for the aluminium and renewable energy company, Hydro, headquartered in Oslo, said: "I can confirm that due to challenging market conditions in the UK, Hydro will restructure its operations and close the aluminium fabrication business unit in Bromyard, Holden Aluminium Technologies.”

"The activities currently performed in Bromyard will be moved to our Bedwas site in South Wales.

"The Bromyard plant has around 50 employees and the planned restructuring is expected to be completed by end 2020. Hydro will conduct the process in accordance with established agreements with unions and UK legislation."

Started in the 1950s, Holden Aluminium Technologies has delivered products to the transport, medical and construction industries, including Aston Martin, Renault and Morgan Cars as well as Channel Tunnel trains and GCHQ.
