According to the National Bureau of Statistics, China’s primary aluminium production declined 3.2 per cent from a year ago to 2.9 million tonnes in November, marking the fifth straight month of year-on-year declines. The total production of aluminium in the first 11 months of 2019 totalled at 32.13 million tonnes, down 0.6 per cent from the same period last year.
In October 2019, China’s primary aluminium production was 2.88 million tonnes after declining by 1.8 per cent from a year ago and 0.7 per cent from a month. This represents the fact that the world’s top aluminium maker’s production in November saw a marginal growth of 0.69 per cent month-on-month. Output until October was up by 0.7 per cent year-on-year.
NBS data also showed China’s production of 10 nonferrous metals, including copper, aluminium, lead, zinc and nickel totalled 5.11 million tonnes last month, up 4 per cent over the over.
In January to November, output of the 10 nonferrous metals amounted to 53.31 million tonnes, with a year-over-year increase of 3.9%.
